FAQ
Location and Entrances
Cherry Street Movement Studio is located at 116 Cherry Street and has two entrances. The front entrance is on Cherry Street, up the stairs to the left of The Hop. There is no exterior business sign just yet, so look for the stairs! The back entrance is accessible through The Trailhead and Dripolator parking lot. You’ll see our sign on the back of the building – follow the sidewalk around to the back door.
Parking
There is no on-site parking at the studio. Please use street parking or the public parking lots throughout downtown Black Mountain.
Sourwood Festival
August 8–9 is the Sourwood Festival in downtown Black Mountain. Cherry Street, Sutton Avenue, Black Mountain Avenue, and Vance Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic. Please allow extra time for parking and consider walking or biking if you’re able.
Arrive Early
Plan to arrive at the studio 10 minutes before your class begins. Give yourself enough time to find parking, make your way to the studio, check-in, and get oriented in the new space.
Book Ahead
We recommend reserving your spot in advance. Book through our website or the Mindbody app to make check-in quick and easy when you arrive.
Showers
Showers are available! Please BYOTowel. Oneka’s non-toxic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from The Laundry provided. Love it? You can purchase it at The Laundry.
Class Policies
A 5-minute grace period will be allowed for late arrivals. Students arriving more than 5 minutes after the scheduled class start time will not be able to join the class.
Cancel any booking up to the class start time. No-shows will result in the loss of your class credit.

Mat Rentals and What to Bring
Manduka mats will be available to rent. Head to the front desk when you arrive to grab one. We’ll also have a limited number of mats available for purchase.
Bring a water bottle! For Yoga, Pilates, and Sculpt classes, bring your own mat (or rent) and a sweat towel. For Strength Training classes, bring training sneakers. Trail runners are not ideal, but they’re totally fine if that’s what you have!
Pop-Ups Vs. Weekly Classes
Infrared Heat
All classes in the Hot Room (Yoga, Pilates, and Sculpt) are heated using infrared heaters.
Hot classes: 98°F Warm classes: 85°F Non-heated classes: The room is not intentionally heated, but temperatures may vary depending on the class before or after.
Infrared heat is a dry heat that uses radiant panels to warm the body directly, helping increase circulation, encourage sweating, and improve mobility. It does not feel the same as being outside in 90 degree heat.
Classes are not the same as Black Mountain Yoga
Black Mountain Yoga Class Transfers
If you have unused classes from Black Mountain Yoga, please contact us so we can apply them to your account, email preferred. Your remaining classes will be valid for the same number of months you had left, beginning August 8. If your name is not on our list of active class packs, there are no remaining classes available to transfer and your classes expired prior to the closure of Black Mountain Yoga.
We are New!!
As we get started, we appreciate your patience as we work through the details of launching a new business and settling into a new space. Like any new beginning, there will be things we continue to learn and refine along the way. We’re excited to open our doors and create Cherry Street Movement Studio!
